New Orleans to Seattle

We continued our sojourn acrosss the U. S. with, first, a ride on the City of New Orleans from Louisiana to Chicago, Illinois. There, we picked up the Empire Builder -- first, to Minnesota to visit family and friends, then across the continent to Seattle.
We had a bedroom car on the trip to Chicago on the City of New Orleans. Our own shower and toilet!
And significant room to relax and enjoy the trip.
The stops along the way reminded us of Arlo Guthrie's great song.
An 11 pm arrival in Minneapolis, and we had Union Depot pretty much to ourselves!
The Twin Cities is still pretty much our home stomping grounds.
Off for our final leg! Cross country to Seattle. Once again in a sleeper car -- but we're used to it now!
The Empire Builder treats you pretty well . . .
. . . the inside of the train is as pretty as the outside!
Not a lot of wifi between Minnesota and the Puget Sound, but there are other ways to occupy your time.
Chugging through the Dakotas, Montana, Idaho, and Washington . . .
. . . the scenery never stops enchanting . . .
. . . and the mountains are majestic . . .
. . . until you finally find the coast.
Seattle, as always, is lovely.
It welcomes us to the Puget Sound and the conclusion of our train adventure!
