Ottawa, Canada

We decided to drive from Minnesota to Maine, via Canada. Bought a car in Minneapolis (yea, Carmax!), with the intention of reselling it in early 2020 when we took off for our next series of adventures. In early August, we set out on our journey, with a brief stop in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, before we crossed the border.
Sault Ste. Marie ("Soo" for us Americans, "So" for French speakers) is a lovely little burg with an expansive waterfront.
We spent a lovely summer evening walking the banks of the St. Mary's River before retiring for the night.
It took us two more stops along the Trans-Canada Highway before we arrived in Ottawa. While there, we found our way to the Centennial Flame, which has been burning since January 1, 1967, the 100th year of Canada's birth.
The Parliament Building in the center of town is an impressive structure. Till 1973, buildings in Ottawa could not be built so as to impede sight of the Peace Tower in the center of the Parliament Building.
A proud voyageur stands watch in the center of downtown Ottawa.
